About Me
When I was young, I was driven by the unknown. I would take apart anything I could get my hands on to see how it worked at its core. I would take notes on what I thought each component was doing and then put it back together. This innate curiosity has not evaded me as childhood has; however, it has evolved into something new: code.
I previously worked at a small startup soap company, and it was an incredible experience. I had the opportunity to solve many problems, design creative solutions to production scalability, and leverage my communication skills to lead a team through the growing pains of a young company. As time passed, the problems became more scarce, and I became unfulfilled and unsatisfied in my path. Enter: the ultimate career path for a problem-solver, software development.
I began my coding journey a year ago when I decided it was time to make a shift into a career where my need to be constantly learning is satisfied. I decided to leave my leadership role in the pursuit of learning to code full time. Over the last year, I have refined my skills in JavaScript, React / Redux, Python, and PostgreSQL, along with many other frameworks and tools. Check out my skills below for a comprehensive list.

Basebook
Basebook is a social media application based on the popular Facebook. Built on a Flask backend, this dynamic application uses React for the frontend UI, with Redux utilized for unidirectional state management.

Splitabill
Splitabill is an application based loosely off of SplitWise, with an aesthetic closer to Venmo. Collaborated with two other developers to create this React / Flask application. Implemented Stripe API with test keys to simulate a real payment to a friend, along with AWS S3 for reducing server load regarding image uploads.

SpaceCation
SpaceCation is a clone of airBnB, with a fun, spacey twist: properties in space for rent. I envision a not-so-distant future where space travel is within reach, so I made an application to model that vision! I built the client-facing application with React / Redux, while the server-side application utilizes Express with a custom API to serve the users data. AWS S3 for image storage reduces server load.

Udderly Forgetful
Udderly Forgetful is a clone of Remember the Milk. This single page web app was built with only vanilla JavaScript, and users can create to-do lists, and add tasks to them.
